It is common knowledge that a hard drive's reading and writing speed can be boosted by defragmenting files. All Windows versions include this feature, but it can take a long time to complete a defragmentation process. With JetDrive, you can do much more than defragmenting your hard drive. The software is capable of defragmenting the computer's memory, the Windows Registry and it gives you the possibility of defragmenting specific files.

JetDrive comes in Professional and Ultimate versions. As you can expect, JetDrive Ultimate comes with more features that the Professional edition. The installation package is roughly 29 MB and it takes about a minute to install the software's files. It works on Windows XP and all later editions and it provides support for both 32 and 64-bit operating systems.

The program's start page presents a series of options, which you can use to start a disk, registry or memory defragmentation process or to check local drives for errors. If you opt for a disk defragmentation, a wizard will help you prepare the process. You can choose between different actions, like performing a full system defragmentation and optimization, which executes every possible action. Alternatively, you can choose a quick defragmentation and let JetDrive decide which drives to process or you can target one or more drives manually.

Additional options can be found on different ribbon menus. If you decide to start a precise defragmentation, the program will process files of your choice. You just need to select them, on a standard Open dialog, click a button and JetDrive will do the rest. A similar feature can be used for system files, but it does not involve selecting any files. Besides defragmenting the memory, files or registry keys, the software can also erase temporary files.

It is also possible to view basic information about individual partitions. Besides the free and used memory, total, used and free clusters, the software displays a defragmentation recommendation level for each partition.
